Handcropped Sea Salt
The treasure of the Mani coast...
To understand what makes the difference of our handcropped seasalt, it helps to look behind the product and see where it comes from.
The Mani coast is mostly defined by stony rocks whereas sandbeaches are rare. But this stony rocks are what offers the opportunity to naturaly collect the salt. All over the coast the rocks form natural basins where fresh seawater is flushing in day by day when the waves are high, carryning the precious seasalt. Dried over the day by the sun, the seawater evaporates revealing the precious seasalt. Then it is collected by hand from the villagepeople living next to the coast and dried under the sun until it is completely dry. Then it is brought to us, where it is packaged either pure, or enriched with chiliflakes or herbs from the region like Thyme, growing plenty on the dry hills of the Parnonas Mountain and the Taygetos Mountain or Rosemary which grows well under the greek sun and with Oregano, which can be found all around growing wild.
The most natural salt.
